ESVS PODCAST GROUP

The European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) is looking for motivated members to join the Podcast group, an increasingly important and popular ESVS educational activity. The length of term will be 3 years, from January 2023, after a 3-month (October-December 2022) run-in phase.

Who can apply?

ESVS and ESVT members who have interest and skill in audio formats, script writing, interview lead and audio editing. Experience in these fields will be much valued but is not a mandatory requirement.

The level of English, both oral and written, of the applicant must be high. In addition, you should be open and willing to work in a team.

Experience, skill and interest in Social Media interaction will also be much valued.

What is expected from you?

You will be involved in deciding on topics for podcasts, script writing, podcast recording and editing, together with and in coordination with the rest of the team members. You will also be expected to engage in Social Media interaction to showcase the released podcasts.

Furthermore, your innovative ideas will be sought after to further develop the podcast activities according to the ESVS mission, i.e.. to further improve vascular science and practice.

As a consequence, this assignment is considerably time-consuming. There is no remuneration linked to this activity. The workload will be distributed throughout the year, every member of the team will be involved in one podcast/month, and commitment is expected.

How to apply?

Please send your CV with supporting documents (if applicable) defining your experience in audio editing and your level of English, and a letter of motivation, which should include an outline of your vision of the podcast activities and your role in it, as well as your motivations and availability.

Your application should be sent to info@esvs.org.

Timeline:

Deadline to submit your application is the 4th September 2022.

Shortlisted applicants will be able to present themselves to the EJVES Vascular Forum Editor in chief (currently responsible for the podcast activities), ESVS Secretary General and Academy Chair at a Zoom interview that will take place in mid-September 2022.

Once the final selection has been made, the result will be communicated to all candidates before the end of September 2022. The actual work as member of the podcast team will begin with a run-in phase, starting in October 2022. This will give the elected person enough time to prepare for taking on full responsibilities from January 2023.

Any questions?

Please address them to Melina Vega de Ceniga (current EJVES VF EiC), through info@esvs.org.
