CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Why was the Mentorship Programme created?
Have you ever wondered how to improve your surgical and academic skills? Or perhaps you would like to expand your network? Or maybe you are facing some career related challenges/insecurities or unfairness in your working environment? If you answered any of these questions with a yes, you came to the right place because we might have a solution for you – the EVST Mentorship Programme!
The options and needs of young vascular specialists vary depending on the following factors: country of residency; hospital; financial status; networking possibilities; level of exposure to up-to-date medicine; lack of diversity within the staff; and many other struggles like inequality and the working environment. Our European Vascular Surgeons in Training (EVST) team created the very first ESVS mentorship programme, with the aim of bridging these gaps and uniting the brightest minds in Europe to guide you in tackling these and other issues.
What do you have to do?
Fill in the application form below for either a Mentee or Mentor position! Mentees will be matched with Mentors according to their choice or needs, as indicated by the application form.
Who is eligible to apply?
All applicants have to be ESVS members (the medical student category is exempt).
- Mentee: vascular trainees and junior vascular consultants (up to 5 years of experience). Applications will close once 20 applications are received.
- Mentor: A vascular consultant with more than 5 years of experience in the field. We encourage senior or retired consultants to actively participate, as they have all the qualities mentioned and could dedicate the time needed. We also strongly encourage female physicians to participate.
