About the programme
The ESVS–EVST Mentorship Programme is a structured, Europe-wide initiative helping young vascular professionals develop personally and professionally through one-to-one mentorship.
Our mentors are experienced consultants dedicated to guiding, supporting, and inspiring the next generation of vascular surgeons.

Guidebook for ESVS Mentorship Programme 2026-28
Eligibility
ESVS membership is required (except for medical students).
For this edition, 8 new mentor–mentee pairs will be created:
- Mentees: Vascular trainees or junior consultants (≤ 5 years of experience)
- Mentors: Vascular consultants with > 5 years of experience
- Senior or retired consultants are warmly encouraged to join
- We especially welcome participation from female vascular specialists.
What are the application timelines?Â
- 3rd to 30th of November 2025.
Mentees will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis — don’t wait too long to apply!
- Pairs announced: 23 December 2025

Don’t worry — your name will be added to the waiting list, and we’ll reach out if a place becomes available or for the next edition.
How long does the Still unsure? Programme last?Â
- 1 year, with possible extension up to 2 years
- Regular monthly meetings (online or face-to-face)
- More frequent meetings if both agree
- A mentee may request a change of mentor within the first 3 months if needed.

EVST TRAINING CENTRES DATABASE
The European Training Centres Database is made up of a large number of institutions who have agreed to consider giving EVST members the possibility to spend a period of time training in these centres.
Access the European Training Centre list here. EVST members can have access to the contact details of those responsible for placements by clicking here.
In addition, ESVS regularly offers Educational travel grants that can be used to support such placements (conditions apply).
