ESVS Month 2020: Carotid Duplex

Carotid duplex is a validated procedure in vascular ultrasound to diagnose arterial disease in the blood vessels of the neck including the carotid, vertebral and subclavian arteries.
We aim to give you a strong foundation in this modality so you will understand how ultrasound is used to diagnose carotid disease. This workshop will be a launch pad to starting your expertise in vascular ultrasound of the carotids.
You’ll be able to learn how to detect and grade carotid stenosis performing supervised examinations on patients.
Learning objectives:
Learn basic US anatomy of carotids
Learn the basics to perform a carotid duplex including subclavian and vertebral arteries
Tips and tricks to differentiate internal and external carotid
Diagnostic criteria
