We are delighted to invite an active member of the EVST to join the ESVS Programme Committee and the EVST Council (and EVST Executive Committee), to be the representative link between the two Committees. Your mandate would be 3 years, non-extendable.
The job description of the EVST representative for the Programme Committee includes the following responsibilities:
- The main job of the Programme Committee EVST representative is to actively engage in Programme Committee meetings to propose content, faculty, discuss initiatives, and highlight important issues that could enhance the Annual Meeting.
- Represent the link between EVST and the Programme Committee, giving a voice to the young vascular surgeons within the scientific programme of the Annual Meeting, in particular with regards to any EVST sessions organised through the Programme Committee.
- Sit on the Programme Committee and therefore attend the related meetings during the term. There is usually at least one meeting a month online and one face-to-face meeting a year. The representative may be asked to prepare some slides and report on recent news or updates. Travel, hotel and registration costs are covered by ESVS for the one face-to-face meeting, up to a limit.
- Sit on the EVST Executive Committee and therefore attend the related meetings during the term. These are normally online and ad-hoc, as and when needed. One meeting is usually held during the Annual Meeting of the ESVS. The representative may be asked to prepare some slides and report on recent news or updates.
- Attend EVST Council meetings – usually two per year. In general, the EVST Programme Committee representative must cover their own costs to attend the EVST Council meetings, except for the Council meeting held at the Annual Meeting.
- Proactively contribute to and assist in all EVST educational and scientific activities throughout the term.
Please note that a 2027 European trainee membership is mandatory. DO NOT APPLY if you do not intend to purchase the membership as it will be verified.
These will become available in the first week of December. Previous EVST and National Society involvement (Councillor or other) is an advantage for the application, as is experience in organising educational events. EVST members at the end of their training are also invited to apply because experience as a trainee and/ or within the EVST can be of benefit. We wish you luck in your application!
The ESVS is an inclusive organisation, which values and seeks out a diverse membership pool, promotes inclusion among members. We embrace all differences and foster respect and a sense of belonging.
