Belgrade, the vibrant capital of Serbia, has long been known for its history, cultural richness, riverside setting, and dynamic spirit. And in 2026, it becomes the proud host of the ESVS Annual Meeting. As one of Europe’s most dynamic cities, it combines centuries of heritage with a modern, energetic urban identity, offering an engaging environment for scientific exchange and networking. Its accessible location, growing medical landscape, and excellent value for accommodation and services make it an attractive destination for vascular professionals attending our congress. Belgrade offers a sense of discovery, authenticity, and memorable character that will provide a unique backdrop for scientific exchange, networking, and shared progress.
Belgrade is well-connected and easily accessible from across Europe and beyond. The city is served by Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG), located approximately 20 minutes from the city centre. Direct flights operate from major hubs, including Paris, London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Vienna, Istanbul and many others.
For delegates travelling regionally, Belgrade is also accessible by train and coach links from neighbouring countries in the Balkans.

Belgrade’s extensive public transport network includes buses, trams, and trolleybuses. It covers over 100 routes across the city. As of January 2025, the city has introduced free public transport, allowing delegates can easily travel across the city, including to and from Sava Centar, our conference venue. No ticket purchases are necessary.
Exceptions: express “E” minibus services and the A1 airport shuttle are not included in the free system and remain paid services.
There are multiple convenient connections around the conference venue area. The Sava Centar bus stop (Milentija Popovića Street) is directly in front of the main entrance and is served by several lines.
For route planning and line maps, visit the official public transport website, GSP Belgrade.
Taxis are widely available and offer a quick way to reach Sava Centar. We recommend using official, licensed taxi services only.
