Diabetic foot disease is an increasingly prevalent and complex challenge across Europe and internationally, with significant implications for vascular surgery practice. Patients with diabetes are at markedly increased risk of peripheral arterial disease, ulceration, and major limb amputation. Effective management requires timely vascular assessment and revascularisation, integrated within a coordinated multidisciplinary framework.
In response to these challenges, we established a multidisciplinary symposium aimed at bringing together key stakeholders in diabetic foot care, including vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, diabetologists, infectious disease specialists, podiatrists, and specialist nurses.
