Current guidelines do not provide a precise recommendation regarding the preferential use of eversion CEA or conventional CEA with patch plasty. The choice of technique is left to the operating surgeon. A recent systematic review concluded that there is no significant difference between these two techniques in terms of early and late outcomes.
