Course description: Acute limb ischaemia (ALI) is a life-threating condition that requires a prompt diagnosis and rapid therapeutic interventions since the prognoses of the limbs and the survival of the patients are mainly dependent to a fast therapeutic algorithm. In this field, the workshop is meant to:
- Improve diagnostic accuracy in acute limb ischaemia
Participants will be able to recognise the clinical presentation of ALI, differentiate it from other causes of acute limb symptoms, and apply evidence‑based diagnostic pathways including the use of duplex ultrasound and cross‑sectional imaging.
- Apply current ESVS guideline‑based management strategies
Participants will be able to interpret ALI severity classifications and select appropriate revascularization strategies (endovascular, open, or hybrid) based on patient factors, limb viability, and guideline recommendations.
- Develop procedural competence in key ALI interventions
This course emphasizes hands‑on, practice‑oriented learning, engaging learners in the technical aspects of surgical and endovascular management of ALI through case discussions, procedural walkthroughs, device‑handling demonstrations, and scenario‑based decision‑making to build real‑world clinical competence.
Accreditation: CME and Medtech accreditation are being sought for this course.
