The PAD Endovascular Certification (PADEC) examination recognising clinical expertise in the endovascular treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease.
What is PADEC?
The PAD Endovascular Certification examination aims to certify the holder with the knowledge and practical skills to perform basic and moderate peripheral endovascular procedures. It is pitched at a basic/intermediate level and aimed at:
vascular surgeons performing endovascular lower limb treatments; and
other medical specialists performing endovascular lower limb treatments.
Eligibility
Ensure you meet the core requirements before registering for the PADEC.
Have an active ESVS membership
Have basic endovascular skills and can do endovascular lower limb treatments independently, without supervision
How the Certification
Works
Understand the structure of the exam, what to expect, and how to prepare.
40 multiple-choice questions with one correct answer per five provided responses | 60 min | Minimum 70% pass
mark.
Oral Assessment
2 case case discussions (indication, diagnostics, treatment, technical details) | 15 min per case.
Practical Assessment
2 practical peripheral endovascular cases | 10 min each | Iliac, femoro-popliteal, and below-the-knee stations
Next Exam
The PADEC examinations are held during each ESVS Annual Meeting. Registration for the Congress opens in April and registration to the exam opens in early June.
