The PAD Endovascular Certification (PADEC) examination recognising clinical expertise in the endovascular treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease.

What is PADEC?

The ESVS Peripheral Arterial Disease Endovascular Certification (PADEC) examination is designed for vascular specialists and advanced trainees who perform endovascular lower limb interventions independently and wish to have their skills acknowledged by the European Society for Vascular Surgery.

 

This certification, conducted in three parts during the Annual Meeting, highlights your:

Attendance of the ESVS Academy workshops will help you understand the current theoretical and practical knowledge, helping you to to pass the exam.

How the Certification
Works

Understand the structure of the exam, what
to expect, and how to prepare.

Written Exam

40 multiple-choice questions with one correct answer per five provided responses | 60 min | Minimum 70% pass mark.

Oral Assessment

2 case case discussions (indication, diagnostics, treatment, technical details) | 15 min per case.

Practical Assessment

2 practical peripheral endovascular cases | 15 min each | Iliac stenosis and femoro-popliteal occlusion

Next Exam

The PADEC examinations are held during each ESVS Annual Meeting. Registration for the Congress opens in April and registration to the exam opens in early June.
