ASSISTANT EDITOR for Media Management of the EJVES Vascular Forum
The European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) is looking for a motivated member to become the next Assistant Editor (AE) of the EJVES Vascular Forum, the 2nd ESVS scientific journal in vascular surgery, currently with an Journal Impact of 1.8. The length of term will be 3 years, from September 2025.
Who can apply?
ESVS and ESVT members who have an interest in scientific publishing, audiovisual communication and particularly Social Media as a focused component of this post.
Experience and skill in audiovisual formats and Social Media interaction will be much valued for the development of this role. Reviewing and research experience will also be considered but is not an essential requirement.
The level of English, both oral and written, of the applicant must be high.
There is a small honorarium for this position.
What is expected from you?
You will follow the publication process of accepted papers, news items related to the journal that need to be publicised, and also the visual abstracts of EJVES Vascular Forum papers (which are also published via the ESVS highlights), which will then be posted into SoMe, and work together with the Editor in chief and the other Assistant Editor. There will be an estimated 10-20 visual abstracts to be worked on per year. We would accordingly look to scheduling posts into X and LinkedIn on a weekly basis.
Furthermore, your innovative ideas will be sought after to further develop the EJVES Vascular Forum according to the ESVS mission, i.e., to further improve vascular science and practice, and to progressively lift its position among the international journals of our field.
The position comes with free access to Scopus and Science Direct and there will be academic recognition with the official inclusion among the team’s names in the journal web page.

Shortlisted applicants will be sent a paper published in the EJVES Vascular Forum and asked to design a post in X/LinkedIn. They will next be able to present themselves and their visual abstract to the EJVES Vascular Forum Editor in chief and Associate Editors at a Teams interview that will take place in late August 2025, and the EJVES Vascular Forum EiC will make the final selection.
