This comprehensive workshop is designed for healthcare professionals seeking to enhance their experience in using vascular closure devices (VCDs). We will discuss the fundamental principles of vascular access, explore the evolution of VCDs, and gain practical skills through hands-on training. The workshop will cover four types of VCDs, offering a nuanced understanding of their applications and limitations. Participants will learn how to assess patients for VCD suitability, ensuring safe and effective use in various clinical scenarios. Through interactive sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to practise deploying different VCDs on wet-models, simulating real-world procedures. We will show how the different VCDs work on live cases. The workshop will also address complications associated with VCDs and provide strategies for their prevention and management. By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently and proficiently incorporate vascular closure devices into their clinical practice, contributing to improved patient outcomes and procedural efficiency.
