Objective
An endovenous treatment of deep veins thrombosis gains more interest due to the good outcome of it as a prevention of post-thrombotic syndrome, especially in young patients. Thus, there is a need to show the possibilities of therapeutical options in this field. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice. During this workshop, upon presented cases, participants will discuss with the experienced convenors about the various factors influencing the outcomes of the treatment of acute thrombosis in deep venous system and also the indications for these interventions, various techniques of the procedures. Aspects such as decision-making and planning, intra-operative imaging, device-technologies and the procedural steps will be looked at. At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to describe the decision-making and planning-process for the treatment of acute thrombosis in the deep venous system, list the advantages of procedural treatment vs. conservative treatment, explain the advantages of using specific devices for given case (tailoring the treatment)
Target audience: The course is designed for vascular surgeons, vascular surgeons in training. Intermediate level of knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology is expected. The participants should also be familiar with basis of phlebological diagnostic and treatment procedures.
Registration and Cancellation policy: € 25 for ESVS members and € 30 for non-members. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. Where registration numbers are too low to run the course, this will be announced on the website no later than 48 hours before the course starts. For cancellations received more than 10 days before the event, a refund will be given less an administration fee of EUR10. For cancellations received less than 5 days before the event, no refund is possible. Participants are aware that the online session will be recorded and may be used by the ESVS on our website and e-library.
