Objective: Vascular ultrasound is an important imaging modality in vascular surgery. The objective is to teach participants how to perform some of the most basic vascular ultrasound examinations: abdominal aorta, femoral arteries, peripheral bypasses, basic carotid ultrasound, percutaneous access, deep venous thromboses and varicose veins. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills under supervision during the course. This course corresponds to the curriculum of the theoretical part of EFSUMB Level 1 in Vascular Ultrasound (European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology). Online quizzes and tests will be conducted regularly during the course and the faculty underlines that attendance in the entire course is mandatory in order to receive course certificate. The course is a first step on the pathway to prepare you well for the CCVUS exam at the annual ESVS meeting in Krakow in 2024.
Participants’ qualifications
The course is designed for vascular surgeons, vascular surgeons in training and vascular nurses and technologists. No prior ultrasound experience is required but basic knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology is expected.
CME: CME accreditation is not being sought for this course.
Registration and cancellation terms: € 1000 for ESVS members and € 1200 for non-members. The fee includes course material, and lunch. Transport, accommodation and additional meals are not included. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. The final decision of whether the course will be conducted is announced on the website no later than one calendar month before the course starts. Travel and accommodation must therefore not be booked until this message is given – ESVS is not financially responsible if the event has to be cancelled due to low numbers, in this timeframe. For cancellations received by participants more than 20 days before the event, a refund will be given less an administration fee of 10 EUR. For cancellations received less than 10 days before the event, no refund is possible.
Participants are advised that photographs and video recordings may be taken during the course. By participating in the course and entering in the venue, you consent to the publication, release, exhibition and reproduction of such materials to be used for the ESVS website, ESVS communications and on ESVS social media. Participants are allowed to take pictures for their personal use only. Any reproduction or commercial use of pictures taken during the conference is strongly prohibited. If a speaker does not want any pictures of his presentation to be taken, this information will be included on the first slides of his presentation. In such case, the participants and delegates are not allowed to take any pictures. Any recording, interviewing, filming and exhibition without a written approval from the ESVS is prohibited.
