Objective: Workshop on live and anesthetized pigs in the Wet Lab. Participate in a hands-on learning experience as you perform vascular procedures on live and anaesthetized pigs in our state-of-the-art laboratory, guided by experienced faculty. Gain practical, hands-on training in various techniques, including vascular anastomoses, patch plastics, embolectomy, and suturing. Covering comprehensive procedures such as carotid endarterectomy and Infrarenal aortic graft, this workshop offers a unique opportunity for skill development. Additionally, participants will have the chance to learn and practice vascular incisions on live pigs in the lab, enhancing their expertise in handling vascular trauma and refining decision-making skills.

Target audience: This course is tailored for residents and young vascular surgeons seeking to enhance their proficiency in open vascular surgery. Prior experience in basic surgical skills is expected.

Registration and Cancellation policy: €1000 for ESVS members and €1250 for non-members. The fee includes course materials, lunch, a networking dinner and free registration at the Norwegian Society for Vascular Surgery Annual Meeting! Transport, accommodation and additional meals are not included. For registration and logistics information please contact the ESVS office: info@esvs.org. Questions regarding course content, qualifications etc. can be addressed to aslam.shakil@gmail.com. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. The final decision of whether the course will be conducted is announced on the website no later than one calendar month before the course starts (by April 29th). Travel and accommodation must therefore not be booked until this message is given – ESVS is not financially responsible if the event has to be cancelled due to low numbers, in this timeframe. For cancellations received by participants more than 20 days before the event, a refund will be given less an administration fee of 10 EUR. For cancellations received less than 10 days before the event, no refund is possible.

Participants are advised that photographs and video recordings will be going on during the course. By participating in the course and entering in the venue, you consent to the publication, release, exhibition and reproduction of such materials to be used for the ESVS website, ESVS communications and on ESVS social media.

Accreditation: CME accreditation is being sought for this event.
