The Academy pathways offer provides a multitude of hands-on, face-to-face and online educational events focusing on the above topics. The stand-alone modules can be taken individually, or as a tailored programme by Aortic Fellows. ESVS members benefit from tickets up to 25% cheaper than non-members. Pathway Lead: Konstantinos Spanos
All courses are open to registered Fellows and the public.
The aortic pathway delivers a comprehensive educational programme dedicated to the contemporary management of aortic aneurysmal disease. It addresses the full spectrum of care, encompassing medical management, sizing and planning, open surgical repair, and advanced endovascular techniques. Through in-depth, evidence-based discussions, internationally recognised experts and key opinion leaders provide structured teaching on diagnostic strategies, treatment algorithms, device selection, procedural planning, and technical nuances. Educational activities are designed to accommodate all levels of expertise, from foundational principles to advanced and complex aortic interventions, ensuring relevance for trainees as well as experienced specialists.
The pathway aims to promote best clinical practice, foster critical decision-making, and disseminate state-of-the-art knowledge and practical “tips and tricks” essential for optimal patient outcomes in aortic aneurysm management. Participants are warmly invited to engage in one or more of the pathway’s educational activities.
Pathway Lead: Kak Khee Yeung.
This pathway offers online and hands-on courses and workshops focusing on the latest treatment of peripheral arterial diseases. We provide in-depth discussions on medical, open and endovascular treatment for peripheral arterial diseases with our experts and key opinion leaders running the workshops. They cover variously, and at all levels from basic to advanced, treatment algorithms, material knowledge and tips and tricks to make sure you are updated in the treatment of peripheral arterial diseases. Pathway Lead: Xavier Marti Mestre.
The aim of this pathway is to improve your understanding of imaging assessment and other diagnostic tools. On the diagnostic pathway you can sign-up for on-site vascular ultrasound courses in Barcelona, Belgrade, Copenhagen and Larissa currently. These are hands-on courses where you can have the opportunity to see real pathology and train on real patients!
Pathway Lead: Sanna Kouhia
This pathway has evolved to keep pace with the demands of vascular surgeons and vascular surgical trainees across Europe and beyond. The online and face-to-face workshops are delivered by an enthusiastic and highly skilled faculty from Austria, Finland, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain and the UK. Whether you are looking for ways to maximise your chances of passing professional vascular surgical exams, to enhance your curriculum vitae through publication or looking to make yourself a better and safer surgeon through understanding non-technical skills and human factors, this pathway has something for you.
