Her cardiovascular risk factors are: former smoking, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and hypercholesterolemia. She is diagnosed with Fontaine stage IIb peripheral arterial disease (PAD) because of left femoro-popliteal occlusion. In the physical examination, a right carotid bruit is noticed.
