Advanced Vascular Ultrasound course objective: The objective of this course is to give the participants a technical and practical understanding of advanced vascular ultrasound, as well as introduce them to the science behind. Advanced vascular ultrasound examinations include below the knee arteries, carotid and vertebral arteries, arteries of the upper limb, haemodialysis vascular access, EVAR surveillance, mesenteric arteries and renal resistance index, 3D and contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and IVUS for vessel preparation and intraoperative control. Participants will have an opportunity to practice their skills under supervision during the course as > 50% of the course duration will be hands-on sessions on patients with relevant pathology.
Accreditation: CME and Medtech accreditation are being sought for this course.
Participant qualifications: The course is designed for vascular surgeons, vascular surgeons in training and vascular nurses, sonographers and technologists. Practical experience with vascular ultrasound is required as well as theoretical knowledge corresponding to the ESVS course in basic vascular ultrasound.
Registration fee & cancellation policy: The registration fee is € 1200 for ESVS members and € 1400 for non-members. The fee includes course material and lunch. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. The final decision of whether the course will be conducted is announced on the website no later than one calendar month before the course starts and all registrants will be contacted as well. Travel and accommodation must therefore not be booked until this message is given – ESVS is not financially responsible if the event has to be cancelled due to low numbers, in this timeframe. For cancellations received by participants more than one calendar month before the event, a refund will be given less an administration fee of 10 EUR. For cancellations received after this, no refund is possible.
Participants are advised that photographs and video recordings may be taken during the course. By participating in the course and entering in the venue, you consent to the publication, release, exhibition and reproduction of such materials to be used for the ESVS website, ESVS communications and on ESVS social media. Please inform the course organiser, if you do not wish for your image to be used.
