ESVS Journal Committee member

Job description – ESVS Journal Committee member

The European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) is opening a call for applications to elect Journal Committee members

The ESVS Journal Committee is an evolution of the former European Vascular Surgery Journals Limited Board of Directors.  In order to simplify the corporate structure of the ESVS Group (5 entities at the time), the company European Vascular Surgery Journals Limited was disbanded in 2024 and the responsibilities of its former Board of Directors transferred to a Committee with the same composition (ESVS Secretary General – currently replaced by the ESVS CEO, ESVS Treasurer and three independent members, one of whom is chair of the committee).

The responsibilities include overseeing the publishing contract, reviewing the performance of the journals and apportioning the Editors’ honoraria.  Full details of the Journal Committee functions and responsibilities can be found in the Journal Committee Terms of Reference. The position is not remunerated.

Mandate term and dates: April 2026-2028 (maximum of 2 3-year terms)

  • Experience as Editor (at a senior level) of a medical journal
  • Strong personal publication record
  • Willingness to contribute to the continuing success of the Society journals

The ESVS is an inclusive organisation, which values and seeks out a diverse membership pool, promotes inclusion among members. We embrace all differences and foster respect and a sense of belonging.
