DESCRIPTION:Did you miss it last time? The Deep Venous Intervention in Acute DVT\, Post-Thrombotic and Non-Thrombotic Iliac Vein Lesions workshop is part of the programme again.\nIn collaboration with: the 2nd Department of Vascular Surgery\, University of Athens\, Greece.\n  \nAs deep venous interventions are rising there is increasing demand for better understanding of appropriate indications and techniques. This is a hands-on workshop on deep venous procedures on live anesthetised pigs in the operating theatre\, including thrombectomy\, stenting\, IVUS\, IVC filter placement and retrieval. Attendees will attend in-depth lectures by international experts on how to identify appropriate patients and how to use contemporary thrombectomy devices\, dedicated venous stents and IVUS. Case discussions\, silicon-models and simulators will complete the educational activity. The aim is to learn about patient selection\, diagnostic assessment and technical tips of endovascular deep venous interventions. To maintain close interaction with the faculty the workshop will be for 16 attendees (first come-first served). \n  \nTopics:\nThrombectomy – Thrombolysis\nVenous Stenting in Acute DVT\, PTS\, NIVLs\nIntravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)\nIVC Filter Placement and Advanced Retrieval\nCase Discussions – Hands-on Workshops – Simulators and Animal Lab  \n  \nJoin a diverse faculty group:\nEvent Lead: Prof. Efthymios Avgerinos (ESVS Academy\, Venous Pathway Lead) Department of Vascular Surgery\, University of Athens\, Athens\, Greece \nHonorary Faculty: Prof. Athanasios Giannoukas (UEMS Representative)\, Department of Vascular Surgery\, University of Thessaly\, Larissa\, Greece; Prof. Chris Klonaris (Chairman – 2nd Department of Vascular Surgery)\, (Hosting Institution))\, 2nd Department of Vascular Surgery\, University of Athens\, Athens\, Greece; Prof. Emeritus Christos Liapis (Former ESVS President) Clinic of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery\, Athens Medical Centre\, Greece; Dr. Konstantinos Roditis (ESVS National Councilor)\, Department of Vascular Surgery\, Red Cross Hospital. \nLocal Faculty: Natasha Hasemaki\, Vascular Surgeon; Miltos Krokidis\, Interventional Radiologist; Antonia Skotsimara\, Vascular Surgeon. \n International Faculty: Domenico Baccellieri\, Vascular Surgeon\, Milan\, Italy; Mert Dumantepe\, Vascular Surgeon\, Istanbul\, Turkey; Houman Jalaie\, Vascular Surgeon\, Berlin\, Germany; Marta Ortega\, Vascular Surgeon\, Madrid\, Spain. \n  \nFinal Programme \n  \nParticipant level: The course is designed for vascular surgeons\, angiologists and interventional radiologists. No prior experience is required. \n  \nCertification: Medtech and EACCME accreditation is being sought for this event. \n  \nRegistration and cancellation policy: The course fee is €700 for ESVS members and €880 for non-members. The fee/registration includes course material (faculty presentations)\, meals (lunch x2\, and one dinner at the end of the first day of the course). The fee/registration does not include flights\, transport to and from airport\, accommodation and additional meals. For questions on course content\, please contact course convenor Efthymios Avgerinos: efavgerinos@gmail.com.
