SUMMARY:Journal Club - August 2026
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce the second edition of this workshop\, taking place in Zagreb!   You will be in the capable hands of: Zoran Rancic\, Frederico Bastos Goncalves\, Fernando Gallardo\, Predrag Pavic\, Elena Iborra\, Damir Haluzan\, Christos Karkos\, Igor Končar and Nermin Lojo     Objectives: This 2-day workshop is designed to provide gradually more and more advanced knowledge in the field of planning and sizing. Participants will learn about the pathology of abdominal aorta\, important features of abdominal and thoracic aorta (with side branches that determine feasibility of EVAR/TEVAR or require more complex endovascular procedures) and diagnosis (intact AAA or ruptured AAA\, with presence of aorto-cava fistula\, aorto-enteric fistula). For the thoracic aorta pathologies\, focus will be on aneurysm\, but also the PAU (penetrating aortic ulcus) and type B aortic dissection.  All the features as well as hemodynamic instability with arterial hypotension at the moment of CTA\, influence the sizing and planning. All steps of the sizing and planning (necessity of CTA\, arterial access\, proximal\, distal landing zone…) will be discussed\, as well as their importance and role in the process and the consequences of any mistakes that may have occurred. Participants can choose the exact prosthesis for each patient from the various company brochures. Furthermore\, participants will be asked to take anonymised DICOM CTA of any potential EVAR/TEVAR procedure they plan to do with them\, or those who resulted in insufficient treatment\, and discuss with faculty panel.   Full Programme – to be confirmed      Target audience: Suitable for several different profiles: 1. Vascular Surgery/Interventional Radiology Trainees. 2. Vascular surgeons who do not feel comfortable in sizing and planning or in centres where sizing and planning is done by a company representative. 3. Vascular surgeons who want to deepen their knowledge in specific situations (dissection\, intramural haematoma\, PAU).   Accreditation: CME and Medtech accreditation are being requested.   Registration and Cancellation policy: € 680 for ESVS members and € 850 for non-members. The fee includes course materials\, coffee breaks and lunch as well as a networking dinner on the first evening. Transport\, accommodation and additional meals are not included. For registration and logistics information please contact the ESVS office: info@esvs.org. Questions regarding course content\, qualifications etc. can be addressed to veronika.juric@moment.hr.   Please note that the course is dependant on final registration numbers. The final decision of whether the course will be conducted is announced on the website and to participants individually\, no later than one calendar month before the course starts. Travel and accommodation must therefore not be booked until this message is given – ESVS is not financially responsible if the event has to be cancelled due to low numbers\, in this timeframe. For cancellations received by participants more than 20 days before the event\, a refund will be given less an administration fee of 10 EUR. For cancellations received less than 20 days before the event\, no refund is possible.     Venue and suggested nearby accommodation (not included): DoubleTree by Hilton\, Zagreb\, Croatia.    BECOME A MEMBER TODAY or why not try a TRIAL MEMBERSHIP for a month\, for free!   Find relevant guidelines. Explore the e-library for podcasts\, ESVS journals\, videos\, virtual vascular and more!   Commercial names of medical devices/software/equipment may appear in this content because they are linked to specific medical procedures\, which are the focus of this training material. SUMMARY:ESVS 40th Annual Meeting
