PAD Pathways : Basic Anastomosis
24 March 2022 @ 17:30 - 19:30

Did you miss it last year?
Here is your chance to participate in our hands-on (online) Basic Anastomosis course
10th March (17:30-19:30)
24th March (17:30-19:30)
Join Carl Wahlgren and colleagues as they guide you through Basic Anastomosis training.
Suturing vascular anastomosis is one of the main basic skills in vascular surgery. It is very specific and experiences with other anastomosis are not useful to perform vascular anastomosis. Lack of open surgical procedures in the common vascular surgical practice due to evolution of endovascular techniques is reducing training volume in everyday training. Also training on models is nowadays recommended method for most of surgical techniques. In addition to all of that, restriction of travel and in person meeting are preventing even face to face on model training.
Thus the course is designed to give you the possibility to learn and perform vascular anastomosis on model being supervised by expert on line and someone more experience on site. You will improve your basic theoretical knowledge regarding anastomotic suturing and provide with models to train and be evaluated in part two of the series.
By attending this course, you will know the principles of the vascular anastomosis, drawbacks and technical tips how to improve technique and perform better. You will then be prepared to perform vascular anastomosis in your own patients under a certain level of supervision.
