EDI in ESVS

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at the heart of what we do.

We are happy to introduce you all to Equality Diversity Inclusion (EDI) Task force team. It is the very first ESVS member-elected group within the Society. Let us introduce our team to you:

Who are we?

The European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) is an inclusive organisation that values and seeks out a diverse ESVS membership pool while promoting inclusion among members. We embrace all differences and foster respect and a sense of belonging. We believe that diversity enriches our perspectives, enhances our performance in vascular surgery, and ensures that everyone feels safe and valued.

The EDI task force is part of our ongoing commitment to provide top-tier vascular surgery training and guidelines for both medical students and advanced professionals. Initiatives like help us drive progress in vascular surgery and cardiovascular health across Europe and the rest of the world.

The EDI Task Force aims to:

  • facilitate/participate in analysis of equality and diversity in the European society based on a recent general membership census
  • seek external consultation to determine the best infrastructure for change, tailored to the needs of the European Vascular Surgery Community as well as to seek input from partner societies on the same
  • set guiding principles within ESVS to increase EDI promoted values, which may be applicable within national societies as well

    • study the impact of changes that are made
    • provide information to members about different initiatives and to collaborate with other groups or specialties in this matter
    • but most importantly we aim to be accessible to all ESVS members by provide support and guidance when needed.

Feel free to reach out to us: share your ideas, concerns, challenge EDI Task Force and the ESVS and become part of the change!
