Are you tired of struggling to navigate the guidelines on chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI)? Do you find it challenging to identify the important chapters in vascular surgery bible, such as Rutherford Textbook? Would you like to refresh your knowledge and stay up-to-date on the guidelines and new research? Or, perhaps are you preparing for vascular surgery exams and in need of a comprehensive study tool?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you need to try the new e-learning module on CLTI launched by the ESVS Library committee.

Based on a real clinical case, this e-learning takes you through essential aspects of treating patients with CLTI: from the WIfI classification to duplex ultrasound, and medical to invasive treatment.

The patient is a 70 year old woman with chronic limb threatening ischaemia based on stenosis of the common femoral artery and occlusion of the iliac axis.

The module provides guidance on common femoral atherectomy, recanalisation of the occluded iliac arteries, stent selection, and fem fem crossover bypass. It also covers anticoagulant therapy and other relevant questions likely to arise while treating patients with CLTI.

This module incorporates videos, podcasts, and sections of relevant medical articles to make the learning process interactive and engaging. The spoken narrative will guide you through the case and provide up-to-date information on the latest literature and guidelines. Invest three hours, and you will not be sorry, you will have an comprehensive approach on how to handle the CLTI patient.

Please note, the module does not have to be completed all at once. You can complete the module at your own pace, as it does not need to be finished in one sitting. So, if you have a couple of minutes available during work, or a free Sunday afternoon at home, you can start and pause this e-learning at any time.

Although this module is not a replacement for a textbook, it offers a comprehensive overview of the essential aspects of treating patients with CLTI and is a valuable addition to your study materials as it is supported by high quality content and sections of relevant medical articles.

It is easy and intuitive to go through lessons of the module, even if you only have 10 spare minutes. The module has been tried and tested by experts in the field, like Prof. Hinchcliffe, who considers it “an excellent resource and e-learning module” and Prof. Saratzis, who mentions it is “very comprehensive and lots of information is included”.

As it is the first e-learning module prepared by the ESVS Library committee, it is important for us to take note of how we can improve future modules. This pilot module will be exclusively available for ESVS, for free. We only ask for your feedback in return!

Your comments and notes will be taken into considering to develop future e-learning modules better suited for your needs.

Don’t wait any longer! Try this unique and comprehensive e-learning module on CLTI today to stay current with the latest guidelines and research. Good luck, and enjoy!
