Journal Committee member – Application

The ESVS Journal Committee is an evolution of the former European Vascular Surgery Journals Limited Board of Directors.  In order to simplify the corporate structure of the ESVS Group (5 entities at the time), the company European Vascular Surgery Journals Limited will be disbanded in 2024 and the responsibilities of its former Board of Directors will be transferred to a Committee with the same composition (ESVS Secretary, ESVS Treasurer and three independent members, one of whom is chair of the committee).

The responsibilities include overseeing the publishing contract, reviewing the performance of the journals and apportioning the Editors’ honoraria.  Full details of the Journal Committee functions and responsibilities can be found in the Journal Committee Terms of Reference (link to be added). The position is not renumerated.

The essential requirements for this post are:

  • Experience as Editor (at a senior level) of a medical journal
  • Strong personal publication record
  • Willing to contribute to the continuing success of the society journals
  • Attend the Committee face-to-face meeting each year in April, online meeting in Autumn and additional intervening online meetings as necessary.

Please complete your application below, and upload your CV, by 30th November 2023. The Journal Committee will plan to hold interviews in February 2024.  Interview candidates will be asked to prepare a 5-minute presentation on what contribution they would bring to the committee.
