The European Society for Vascular Surgery is saddened to learn of the death of Professor Roger Greenhalgh and extends its sympathies to his family.

Professor Greenhalgh will be remembered not only as a prominent vascular surgeon and researcher who made significant contributions to the field of vascular surgery and medical science, but also as a pivotal part of the ESVS.

He was one of the founders of our Society and integral to establishing our journal (the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery), of which he served as Chairman of the editorial board.  Professor Greenhalgh went on to become the Society’s first European honorary member.

Professor Greenhalgh’s pioneering work in the field of vascular surgery has had a lasting impact on patient care, surgical techniques, and the advancement of evidence-based medicine in the field. His dedication to research and innovation will continue to benefit patients and medical professionals alike.
