Academy Committee – Aortic Fellowship Lead
Job description- Academy Committee
ESVS Academy: Developing world-class, innovative and interactive training for vascular surgeons.
The ESVS Academy represents the educational branch of the Society and was born in 2018. It delivers CME-accredited online and onsite educational workshops and courses to vascular surgeons across all skill levels. All of our activities are split into Pathways (aortic, carotid, peripheral arterial disease, venous, dialysis, diagnostic, professional development & academic and vascular medicine). The Academy Committee has eleven members including the Chair, eight Pathway Leads (running each Pathway), a Training Team Co-ordinator and a representative of the European Vascular Surgeons in Training (EVST). The Committee is also supported by a full-time Project Manager, based at the head office in Bordeaux.
The Academy team, from all over Europe, meet regularly online (monthly usually) to discuss the activities under the Academy umbrella, with 2 face-to-face meetings, normally in November and spring.
The Academy is opening a new position for a Fellowship Programme Lead, within the framework of the development of a new Aortic Fellowship Programme.
ESVS Aortic Fellowship Programme: The ESVS Aortic Fellowship is a training programme enabling vascular surgeons and/or vascular surgeon trainees to learn skills that the ESVS identifies as the core necessary competencies to successfully treat basic, moderate or advanced aortic diseases. This 2-year programme will see participants follow 7 face-to-face training workshops or “modules” in various European cities, as well as 6 online workshops and a two-week placement in a high-volume aortic centre. The first Fellowship Programme is due to open in September 2024. The first Fellowship award ceremony will be held at the ESVS Annual Meeting in Belgrade in September 2026.

We are looking for someone with experience in this field and the drive and enthusiasm to produce a dynamic and engaging programme, as well as to improve already established, high quality content. - Improve visibility among more than 3000 ESVS members and other colleagues considering ESVS as a leading vascular society.

- Collecting feedback and participating in improving the programme.
What do you need?
Candidates will:
- Have an active ESVS European membership in good standing.
- Have accomplished experience in treating patients with aortic diseases.
